 APLACETOSEARCH.COM'S EDITOR'S PICK 2008 AWARD CRITERIA |
APlacetoSearch.com's Editor's Pick 2008 Award program criteria must be "read" and "complied with" by every applicant. The criteria is as follows:
1. When viewing the Editor's Pick 2008 Award graphic, you will notice, the award image is numbered. The numbered image No. 001 is the sample image for this award program. Any site displaying the award graphic numbered No. 001, will be notified to remove the award graphic immediatly. No web site is authorized to display the award graphic numbered No. 001!
2. Only sites officially notified of having successfully won this award may display the award graphic on their websites.
3. Each award graphic will be numbered. Winning websites will be awarded award graphics which are numbered starting with the award graphic numbered No. 002 and then sequentially advancing in numbers, No. 003 and continuing on as sites are designated winners. There will be a directory or listing of winning sites with each site being designated a numbered award graphic. Winning sites may only display award graphics which have been designated to them uniquely. Winning site number three would then be authorized to display the award graphic numbered No. 003. Any websites displaying a numbered award graphic which is not represented on the winning site listings, are to be noted as an unauthorized use of this award program graphic. If any webmaster or other award program staff notices Aplacetosearch.com's Editor's Pick 2008 Award graphic displayed on a site they are visiting or judging, which is then noted as not being designated and authorized to display the numbered award graphic from Aplacetosearch.com's Editor's Pick 2008 Award, please notifiy Aplacetosearch.com's Editor's Pick 2008 Award Staff.
3a. Each year the Editor's Pick Award is Upgraded to the new Year's number. i.e. The Editor's Pick 2007 Award is now the Editor's Pick 2008 Award and next year, this Award will be upgraded to the Editor's Pick 2009 Award. Consequentially, with each new year there is a regeneration of sequential winning Award numbers. i.e., Each new year, the first awarded site has the winning Award numbered No. 002. If you view the Winners page, you will notice, when viewing the winning sites' Awards Gallery, each site has an Award numbered No. 002. A fine example. This Award regenerates and upgrades every successive year.
4. To successfully apply for the Editor's Pick 2008 Award, do not use the application link listed in the award program menu. Only applicant's which use the Application link found on the Winners listings page will be judged for this award. Any site using the Application link found in the award menu which is found on each page of the award program will be immediately disqualified. There is a special Application link, which is only found on the award Winners page.
5. Only applicants who read and adhere to the Award Program Criteria will have a chance to win this award. Reading the award program criteria is crucial to the award program process and specifically on the applicant's end.
6. Knowledge and displayed skill of HTML and other coding languages will be judged.
7. Knowledge and displayed skill of Graphic Arts will be judged.
8. Knowledge and displayed skill of Marketing Skills, including SEO, will be judged.
9. Knowledge and displayed skill of Site Content Development will be judged.
10. Of course and always, what is the WOW Factor of your website? Will your site impress the Award Staff? Will your site make the Award Staff want to add a Bookmark to the Award Staff's personal favorites? Will your site make the Award Staff want to return to your site? What lasting impression will your website make on the Award Staff?
11. By submitting the award application, applicant's are agreeing to all criteria, award program intended purpose, Aplacetosearch.com's Terms of Service and Privacy statement. Also, applicant's are agreeing to not contest the results of the Award program Staff's decision in judging applicant's websites.
What disqualifies a site from consideration is as follows:
a. Anything determined to be illegal within the borders of the United States of America. If for some reason, you are not well versed in the laws of the United States of America, visit the Untied States Justice Department pages. Google it to find the url.
b. Any site not written in English. Sorry folks, Award Staff are only fluent in one language, "English."
c. If Applicants or Applicant sites are owned and maintained by anyone under the age of 13 years old.
d. Any site whose content is not in accordance with Aplacetosearch.com's Terms of Service and also not following the format of Aplacetosearch.com's Family Safe policy. i.e., Adult content websites need not apply.

(Not a criteria, but to be read here by all applicants.) There is not a Points Scoring System for this award program. Simply because there is only one tier to this award program and because of the choice and decision of the Award Program staff. All sites which meet the criteria and are not disqualified for any reason will be awarded this award.
After winning sites have been notified, these winning sites will be given reasonable time, two weeks, to display the award graphic with link back to Aplacetosearch.com. The award graphic may not be altered in size, form or detail. Winning sites' which fail to display the award graphic on the winning sites' page and with back link to Aplacetosearch.com, or winning sites' which alter the award graphic image, will not be displayed in the winners listings. From time to time, winning sites will be revisited by Award Staff to see if they still meet this stipulation and are still qualified to display this award. (i.e., Winning sites must continue to meet the critieria or in the advent of an update to the criteria, winning sites must meet the new standards of the criteria or risk being removed from the winners listings.) There will be no "listings" of sites which have been found in violation of these requirements or criteria. Beyond the posting of this stipulation, there will be no mention of such sites found on these web pages at all.
These Criteria may be modified at anytime in the future without notice. If the award criteria does change, all sites then must comply with the award program's updated criteria or be removed from the Winners lisitings. An email notice will be sent to all award recipients notifying them of any changes.
Aplacetosearch.com's Editor's Pick 2008 Award program Ethics Statement is simple. Aplacetosearch.com's Editor's Pick 2008 Award Staff pledge to do exactly what our award program's intended purpose and criteria says we will do. Award staff will not use the vehicle of this award program to demean or degrade any individual or group of people for any intended reason at any time. The award Staff will not waiver from what has been outlined on these award program pages.
Copyright and Privacy Statement and Terms of Service for all pages and services of Aplacetosearch.com's website are bound by what is documented and outlined on the Privacy and Terms of Service pages.
Timeline for reviewing and notfying Applicant's of Winning (i.e., Review Proccess timeline.): If Applicant's have received no notice within thirty days of sending their application, then applicant's should not expect any. Award Staff does apologise, but not all sites will win this award. Award staff strictly adheres to the Ethics of this award program. Non winning sites will not receive notification of failure to win this award. If requested, no reasons will be given for Applicant's not winning this award. All decisions by Award Staff are final.
What comes next? Submitted applications are processed, placed in a queue in the order they are received. Sites will be judged by Award Program Staff. Within thirty days of submitting their application, winning sites will be notified how to collect the award graphic and code. Winners will receive directions on how to apply the code, unaltered, on their website. It is not neccessary for a site to have a subdirectory, or unique place to hold awards on the site. A prominent place on applicant's website's, specifically made to host Award's graphics won by the website is a benefit to all visitors to applicant websites and will be appreciated by every awards review panel or judge. If applicants have made a page or subdirectory of pages to host a gallery of awards applicant's website's have won, it will be appreciated by the Editor's Pick 2008 Award staff.
